My background as a fashion stylist has trained me to study trends and details that are theme related. I've always applied the very same skill to styling flowers for weddings. I often ask brides to bring in examples of arrangements they like or inspirational photos. These help me to understand not only a bride's taste but act as design clues. I may notice that there's a consistent percentage of greens in each bouquet, that the colors are all monochromatic, or the same berries show up in each image. Often the bride is completely unaware that she even has a consistent floral style...she just knew they liked the photos online.
My favorite place to draw inspiration from is Snippet & Ink. It's amazing how creative people can be! I love typing in a color and seeing how many different ways the same color can be used. Don't feel weird about walking into a consultation meeting with photos, swatches, and favors. As a visual person it allows me to quickly get to know you, I love it!
